Take Control. Bring intimacy,
pleasure and desire back into your life.

A satisfying sex life doesn’t happen with the wave of a wand or just because it is a date night marked on your calendar. Talking about your sexual needs can bring you and your partner closer together and promote sexual fulfillment. Additionally, speaking with a physician to help determine if an underlying hormonal or adjunct therapy can help is just a phone call away. Men are not the only ones with an option!

Oxytocin

Oxytocin can be prescribed to help treat female orgasmic and arousal dissatisfaction or for women who just desire a more powerful or multiple orgasms. Research has shown that oxytocin is not only released during an orgasm but appears to be responsible for causing orgasms.

Oxytocin causes a cascade of reactions within the body, including the release of endorphins which results in biological and physical arousal.

Hormone Therapy…Why hormones are important for women’s sexual health?

  • Estrogen: Low levels of estrogen can have a big impact on your sex drive. You may experience vaginal dryness that can lead to painful intercourse and you may have unpredictable mood and sleep patterns.
  • Testosterone: Testosterone, which is primarily thought of as a male hormone, is also made by, and is important to women. A woman’s ovaries naturally produce testosterone, which is used to help make estrogen. Some studies have shown that higher levels of testosterone are associated with increased sexual desire and sexual behavior in women. Low levels of testosterone may contribute to the reduction of arousal and sexual response that often occurs in older women.
  • Progesterone: Like estrogen, progesterone is another female hormone that helps control the menstrual cycle and support pregnancy. Levels of progesterone also decline when you reach menopause. While researchers are still working to understand the role that progesterone plays in a woman’s sexual function, changing levels of progesterone are thought to be involved in a woman’s sexual behavior.

The Woman’s 5 Sex-Pleasure Problems & Why Doctors Stay Silent…

  • Female Sexual Arousal Disorder (usually but not always accompanies Sexual Desire Disorder). Women who suffer with this may want to have sex but have much difficulty finding the pleasure of arousal. The 5% incidence doesn’t sound like much until you think about it–that’s the same as one in 20!
  • Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder (Low desire). Remember, that this is not counted a disorder unless it’s disrupting the woman’s life. Around 10% of women suffer with this problem. Important: Suffering with a sexual disorder does not simply make sex not fun. Better sex leads to more energy, more creativity, increased confidence, less depression, and improved overall health.
  • Female Orgasmic Disorder: Again around 1 in 20 (or 5%). Here women can become aroused but have much difficulty with orgasm. This can be so frustrating that sex becomes a frustration that they avoid.
  • Dyspareunia: Here the woman suffers with real pain with sex (not from decreased lubrication or vaginal spasm). The incidence is from around 1 in 10 to 1 in 5 women. (The above shocking statistics came from Obstetrics & Gynecology April 2011)
  • Genital Mismatch can contribute to both Female Orgasmic Disorder & to Dyspareunia

What are hormones and why are they imperative to health?

Hormones are a chemical messenger passing signals from one cell to another; there is not a single process in your body that does not utilize hormones. Without proper levels and quality hormones your body will not work as it is designed, this decline in function is part of the bodies aging process. Every day your body creates new cells duplicating themselves; when you have unhealthy cells duplicating in your body this is the root of illness and disease. Some of the most basic processes hormones control are mood swings, induction or suppression of apoptosis (programmed cell death), activation or inhibition of the immune system, regulation of metabolism, hunger cravings and sexual arousal.

What are some symptoms of hormone and metabolic imbalances?

  • Weight Gain
  • Increased Body Fat Especially in Stomach
  • Mental Fogginess/Poor Retention
  • Decrease in sexual pleasure / erection quality
  • Poor Sleep Patterns
  • Depression
  • Irritability
  • Memory and Focus
  • Loss of Muscle Tone
  • Fatigue
  • Decreased Libido
  • Decreased Strength & Endurance
